More Than Just Awards

Hi, I'm Emma, co-founder of More Than Trophies.

When people think of trophies, medals, and awards, they often see the finished product the shiny trophy on presentation day, the medal proudly worn around a player's neck, or the plaque displayed on an office wall.

But to me, recognition has always been about something much bigger. It's about the excitement of a young player receiving their very first medal. It's about acknowledging the volunteer who has quietly dedicated countless hours behind the scenes. It's about celebrating a team's hard work, a staff member's contribution, or a community member who has made a difference.

Because recognition matters.

When we started More Than Trophies in 2015, we saw an opportunity to do more than simply supply awards. As the business grew and I stepped into it full-time in late 2017, I noticed that many of the people organising presentations, events, and recognition programs were already wearing multiple hats. Club volunteers, committee members, teachers, coaches, administrators, and event organisers were juggling endless responsibilities, often trying to coordinate awards at the last minute while managing everything else that came with their role. Finding the right products, staying within budget, meeting deadlines, and ensuring everything arrived on time could quickly become overwhelming. I believed there had to be a better way.

That's where the vision for More Than Trophies truly took shape. My goal was simple: provide quality awards backed by personalised service that made the entire process easier. I wanted customers to feel supported from start to finish, knowing they had someone they could rely on for advice, recommendations, clear communication, and products that would help make their event a success. Like many small business owners, I've worn every hat along the way. I've learned new skills, adapted to challenges, and grown alongside the business. That journey has given me a genuine appreciation for the people we serve because I understand what it's like to juggle competing priorities while trying to create something meaningful.

Over the years, we've grown alongside the clubs, schools, businesses, and community organisations we serve. We've helped celebrate championship wins, participation milestones, years of service, academic achievements, workplace successes, and countless moments in between. And while every order is different, one thing remains the same: the people behind them. We understand that volunteers are often the backbone of every successful club. We know presentation day seems to arrive much faster than expected every season. And we believe recognition isn't just about winning it's about effort, improvement, commitment, teamwork, and being part of something bigger than yourself. That's why we approach every order with care.

Today, More Than Trophies is built on the same values that inspired its beginning: quality, reliability, community, and genuine customer service.
